It need only be 8-10 blocks above you, just enough so you can move and jump while being protected. Both of these attacks can be blocked by placing a ceiling above your player. It also will ram the ground occasionally, which seems like an odd thing to do with a spaceship. The UFO's main attack is a laser it shoots directly down towards the ground. The final stage of preparation is building yourself a shelter. Bandages heal slowly, but if your near the brink of death, you can just build a wall around your guy while you heal, then smash it apart and go back to fighting the boss. Should you lose, you will have to waste materials building a new beacon to summon him again. It is also worth investing in some bandages before beginning the fight. If you were lucky enough to find a good gun early in the game, it can go a long way to making this fight quick and easy. He also summons little penguins to attack you on the ground, so a decent melee weapon will help clean them up quickly. The boss is airborne for most of the fight, so a ranged weapon is a must. Secondly, ensure you have a bow and a decent melee weapon. It is made from copper armor and iron ingots and is much sturdier than copper. Copper armor is okay, but the first set of racial armor is preferred. The boss' attacks are easy to avoid, but when they hit, they hit hard. Firstly, make sure you have some sort of armor. Interact with the beacon and it will explode, and the UFO will appear moments later in the sky.īefore jumping into the fight, a little preparation should be made. Once obtained, place it on any planet and make sure it has line of sight into the sky. It doesn't require that many materials, so it shouldn't take long before you can access it.
PENGUIN STARBOUND FREE
Well, that’s it! Hope you all enjoyed this ship tour! If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments section below. To encounter the boss you must first build a Distress Beacon. Special grow-lights are used to speed up the production of the food. Here, all the food for the ship is grown. Last, but not least, up above the dining area is the on-ship farm. As you can see, there is still some space for more!

This is where Pete keeps his trophies from his battles and victories. To the right of the dining area is the trophy room. Here, crew members can get a bite to eat and enjoy some peace from their raucous lives. The safe is huge- it can hold up to 64 items! This is where the most precious treasures are stored after Pete’s adventures. To the left of the Saloon is the furnace and the safe room. One of my favorite things about this piece of furniture is that it can actually be played! Sometimes one of the crew members will just wander over and start playing it, which I think is really cute. To the right of the Saloon is the piano, where live music can be played.

They are a rowdy bunch of penguins, after all! The Saloon is where the crew members can go and unwind with a drink (and a bar fight) or two. Up above the crew’s quarters is the Saloon. The paintings on the wall depict different aspects of frontier life, which I thought would be fitting with the Wild West theme. The crew sleep in cabin bunks, which I like because they look rustic. To start off our tour, let’s take a look at the crew’s quarters. It is unknown whether or not the penguin will be a pet, (Stretch Goal 3) although it is in the game in the form of the Penguin UFO and an NPC. Since penguins are mercenary-types in Starbound, I thought it would be fitting to have his ship be Wild West themed. The Penguin is the mascot for Starbound so far and is (said by Tiy) a non-playable race. All of his crew members are either penguins or dressed as penguins. Pete is actually a Glitch, but he prefers to dress up as a penguin.
